Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) concluded, through extensive research, that visitors to their website were put off visiting because of the large amounts of content they had to go through to find information relevant to them.

It was acknowledged that simply accessing and finding information about what the Trust does and where is of the utmost importance to someone visiting their website, especially on mobile. The communications team in spring 2017 went through a competitive selection process, selecting Frank Health to help them design and develop a digital platform to achieve this ambition.

A key challenge CLCH faced digitally was the services provided were not all the same in their 11 geographical areas. For example, services provided in Hertfordshire were different to those available in Brent or Barnet, so users found it difficult to find information pertinent to themselves. Frank Health designed and developed the website to be able to personalise a user's journey, based on where they live. The user can select their own region by clicking the orange drop-down box in the top right hand corner, select their region or regions, service types (Adult, Children's, Chronic and Specialist) and content from those regional areas and services is shown.

CLCH and Frank Health worked collaboratively to change key components of the site, including navigation (especially on mobile devices) and a vastly improved search functionality. In addition, time was spent improving the structure of content, especially on the service pages, so the user can easily find information on what each of the services offer, where and how to access them, and contact details.

For the health professionals, GPs and voluntary organisations CLCH work closely with, we redeveloped the 'Health Professionals’ area and included information at-a-glance on contacting referral teams, downloading referral forms and details on where the services operate. Smaller changes include the creation of a host of new icons alongside each of the new services.

Matt Cooper, Project Lead, said:

"The Frank Health team have provided us with a website that we can be proud of. From our initial meeting, through to the development and launch of the website, the team have put our 'blue sky' idea of a website into reality. Our new website had to tick many boxes for a range of audiences, and Frank have helped make this possible.

Responsive and intuitive - the team have always made themselves available and been flexible to our requirements, however big or small. Thank you, team - we very much look forward to working with you in the future as the website grows and would highly recommend you to other providers thinking about developing a new website."

The site went live on the 1st February 2018 and can be found at; https://www.clch.nhs.uk
