Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism in inpatient and community-based settings. They service a population of around 1.8 million across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
AWP went to tender for a new public facing website to represent the Trust and Frank were appointed in August 2021.
Scoping
Frank supported AWP through a detailed scoping process which included several engagement sessions to understand their users' needs and preferences. Frank facilitated sessions with staff and service users (including a separate session for children, adolescents and their parents) using virtual voting software to gain feedback on draft designs, functionality and user navigation. The outputs of the scoping phase included revised designs, site hierarchy and detailed requirements for functionality.
Build
Frank delivered a main public facing website and a microsite for CAMHS. The microsite for CAMHS had a different look and feel, based on the feedback of their users, and its own navigation. Bespoke requirements were incorporated, such as the ability to easily print or save to PDF, for users to provide feedback on each page and also identify when the content was last updated on each page.
The site incorporates the AWP branding throughout, with high quality photography, and is a friendly, visual representation of the Trust.
The feedback has been very positive and Frank looking forward to a continuing their digital partnership with AWP.
Jen Hartley-Bond, Associate Director of Communications said "Our project needed to address a wide range of needs from content to security, and Frank colleagues were able to delicately steer us through unknown waters towards a website which really exceeds our expectations. They were more than happy to add suggestions and perspectives at every point on the journey, based on their wide experience working with similar organisations."
